Lately, this show is becoming popular again, thanks to a few North American stations picking it up. 'KRP has stood the proverbial test of time pretty well. The clothes are pretty terrible (though at the time they must have been considered cool - check out Venus!), and Andy's hair is awfully big, but the humour still works. The times they mention the employees' salaries are a bit embarrassing - Jennifer is said to make the ridiculously huge amount of $24 000 a year. There's only the occasional bit which might be considered politically-incorrect these days, and Les's Communist fears seem a bit dated, but overall, everything still works. WKRP also features what many people consider to be the funniest moment in television history... "For those of you who've just tuned in, the Pinedale Shopping Mall has just been bombed with live turkeys. Film at eleven." |
