Mr. Buchanan was born at Donegal on July 6, 1918, a son of the late Stanley and Isabella (Anderson) Buchanan.
He attended elementary school at Donegal, Listowel High School and Stratford Normal School.
Mr. Buchanan worked at Roe Farms from 1945 to 1954 and farmed for the remainder of his life at Lot 34, Con. 10 of Elma Township.
Mr. Buchanan is survived by his wife, the former Marion Henderson; one daughter, Anne Buchanan of Stratford; one son, Donald and his wife Louise; four grandchildren, Michael, Sarah, Amy and Jill, all of London.
Visitation was held at the Peebles Funeral Home, 141 John St., Atwood where the funeral and committal service will be held today (Wednesday, April 1) at 2 p.m. Rev. Pam Tolmay of Donegal United Church will officiate.
Spring interment will be in Donegal Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Andy, Barry and Earl Buchanan, Bob Leslie, Steve Buchanan and John Holden.
