We walked along a moonlit path from the Old Town; the ice lanterns led us out onto the lake to this, the Snow King's castle. The windows are 4-inch thick blocks of clear ice. The Friday night "ball" (old-time fiddle dance) was delayed due to a broken heater. Viewed: 256 times.

Somebody tried too hard on this truck. I was more impressed by the vehicle offering "Blowtorch Cooking Lessons", hauled by a snowmobile with ripped upholstery and decorative duct-tape. There really was a surly teenage boy trying to boil something in a tin kettle, using a blowtorch. Viewed: 255 times.

Trees around Yellowknife grow very slowly and spindly. On this nearly dead tree, you can see that the pinecones grow close to the trunk, unlike southern conifers. Viewed: 252 times.
