I visited Yellowknife, the capital of the Northwest Territories, Canada, in late March 2005. The Caribou Carnival was held over Easter weekend.

transpixel We walked along a moonlit path from the Old Town; the ice lanterns led us out onto the lake to this, the Snow King's castle.  The windows are 4-inch thick blocks of clear ice.  The Friday night "ball" (old-time fiddle dance) was delayed due to a broken heater. transpixel
